The Real Meaning of Christmas

The Real Meaning of Christmas

Between shopping, making lists, opening gifts, wrapping gifts and sending out Christmas cards, we forget the ultimate reason of Christmas and why we celebrate it. We know it’s Jesus’ birthday. I know average people think opening gifts, reading cards, eating and spending time with their families is a tradition but you should also take the time to recognize our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Be aware that in 2 Corinthians 9:15 is says “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” (NIV) In this scripture Paul wants us to know that we should thank God for his wonderful gift which is Jesus. We know that Jesus’ earthly parents are Mary and Joseph but if it wasn’t for our Heavenly Father, God, Christmas would mean nothing to us as believers. So as believers and followers of Christ, we should really know that Jesus is the reason for the season and we celebrate him . “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born unto you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
